Our Work
VULPRF works to protect the rights of vulnerable persons, stop violence among youth, and promote peace across Nigeria.
As a Nigerian non-governmental organization with UN ECOSOC consultative status, we leverage our community presence, expertise, and partnerships to influence policy and catalyze change across areas like children and youth, women’s rights, education, peace building, disability rights, governance, and poverty alleviation.
Our Reach
Our 20 staff and 30 volunteers work on the ground across Nigeria and with partners across West Africa and beyond.
While we support initiatives around the globe, many of our efforts are concentrated in countries with the most potential to unlock global transformation. These focus communities house many of the world’s most vulnerable people, contain vitally important natural landscapes and produce significant rights violations — or will in the coming years. We have program offices in Brazil, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Mexico, Rwanda and the United States, as well as regional offices in Africa and Europe.
Our Programs
VULPRF aims to transform the systems that profoundly impact vulnerable persons. This includes how we protect children and youth, empower women, provide education, build peace, ensure disability inclusion, promote governance, and alleviate poverty. To enable change at the pace and scale needed, we also work to shift the economic, finance and governance structures that shape people’s decisions and behaviors. Learn more about our focus areas:
